Notes - JOHN R. HOLT. (1812-1870.) - John was born and raised in Alamance County, N. C. Early in life, he was converted under the preaching of Elder Lewis Craven. He attended school, and graduated at the University of North Carolina. For some years, he was President of Graham Institute, the same state. The Elder was a man of ability, and of great usefulness in the church. In 1878, he died in Randolph County, N. C., leaving a widow and a large family of children.
