    • From "Peter and Susannah (Kelch) Blue: Pioneer Settlers in Fayette County, Ohio and Some of their Descendants", State Library of Ohio: During the Revolution, Peter Blue enlisted May 1, 1781, and on November 1, 1781 in the company of Capt Anderson, Virginia Militia, Hampshire County. His widow applied for a pension on Aug 1, 1856, at the age of 89; claim was denied "because she had sons able and willing to supply her needs.".

      Peter K. Blue/Blew was born near Romney, West Virginia in 1762 and died in Fayette County, Ohio in 1843. He married Susannah Kelch who was born in 1767 and died in Fayette County, Ohio in 1857. Her parents were deceased, so David Allen became the guardian for Susannah and her brother, Phillip. Peter K. and Susannah's children were: John P., Abraham, Peter, Jacob, Alice, Margaret, Susannah, David, Benjamin, William and Philip.

      In 1820 Census, surname is spelled Blew and he is found living in Madison, Fayette Co., Ohio. Sons John P. and Jacob living next door. Found Peter in 1830 Census for Madison, Fayette Co., Ohio and his neighbors included sons John P., David, Benjamin, William,and Abraham who were each head-of-households. In 1840, he's in Marion, Fayette Co., Ohio and his neighbors include sons John P. and Philip.

      John S. Blue mentions that Abraham, William, David, and Benjamin all came to Kosciusko County around 1836-1838. The daughter, Alice, married William Wilcox and they were in Indiana. John P. and Phillip Blue came to Kosciusko County after their mother died.

      In the old section of the Mentone Cemetery the following children of Peter Keyser Blue are buried: Alice Wilcox and husband; Abraham, William, Benjamin, Phillip and John P. Blue. The wife of David Blue, her name was Zilpha, is also there.
      Peter Keyser Blue and Susannah were buried in the Woods Cemetery near Washington Courthouse ,Ohio,on a hill overlooking the surrounding community.

      Peter Keyser BLUE (1761/2-1843), m.1787 Susannah KELCH (1768-1857). He was born in VA and, after their marriage, they moved to Jefferson Co. OH. There he owned a 200 acre farm and followed farming as well as coopering. They later moved to Fayette Co. OH where Peter owned land in surveys 8622 and 7557 in the North Fork of Paint Creek. Susannah was a daughter of Phillip and Margaret (DROLLINGER) KELCH. Peter died in Fayette Co. and is buried near New Holland in the Blue-Bryant Cemetery (C889 says Woods Cemetery). Susannah was living with her son, John, in Marion Twp., Fayette Co. in 1850. In 1856 Peter?s widow claimed he served in the VA Militia for six months in 1781.
