OTTUMWA ? Grace Arlene Eslinger, 93, of Paradise, TX and formerly of Ottumwa, died at 3:35 a.m. April 6, 2018 at her home.
She was born November 20, 1924 in rural Farson, IA to Noris and Hazel Davis Newman. She grew up on a farm near Farson. After she graduated, she earned her teaching certificate and taught in Hedrick.
She married Wayne O. Eslinger on June 11, 1949. They were members of Northgate Alliance Church in Ottumwa for about 35 years, where she taught children?s Sunday school classes for years. She and her husband retired to Florida in 1985. He preceded her in death January 19, 2003. She then moved to Texas in 2012 to be closer to her family.
Surviving is her daughter, Linda (Brian) Wills; three grandchildren, Andrew (Valerie) Wills, Laura (Nate) Piatt and Jonathan (Rebecca) Wills,; and 5 great-grandchildren, all of Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her three sisters, Marie Breon, Ferne Fenton, and Florence Newman.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Eschenbrenner officiating. The family will be present one hour prior to the service.
