    • Elna Dee Drullinger, 98 of Tipton died at 3:10 a.m. on Sunday, April 2, 2023 at her residence. She was born on November 13, 1924 in Clay County, Tennessee to Walter & Maudra (Kendall) Cherry. On September 11, 1964 she married Arthur "Dale" Drullinger. The couple enjoyed 39 years of marriage together before Arthur's death on May 9, 2004.

      Elna worked at Delco Remy of Anderson until her retirement on April 29, 1994. As a teenager and young adult she loved roller skating. Elna and Dale loved listening and dancing to her oldest son, Sonny playing the drums in his band on Saturday nights. They also enjoyed family camping trips. Her family was the most important thing to her. She always looked forward to having big Sunday dinners with all of her children and their families. Elna never forgot her birth place and loved to travel back to Celina, Tennessee to visit with family. Elna was also a Member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Tipton.

      She rarely missed an opportunity to watch her grandkids playing sports or going to watch them acting in their plays. After losing her husband she loved going shopping and going to dinner with her two sisters (all three were referred to as the Golden Girls); her two nieces Willie Nell Burke and Donna Austin, and close friends Cheryl Bagley, Romelle Jones, and Ceal Stone.

      Her family includes her children, Sonny Keifer and wife Patty of Tipton, Larry Keifer and wife Linda of Tipton, Rocky Keifer of Tipton, Susie Connors of Colorado Springs, Rick Keifer and wife Donna of Lafayette, Tina Parr of Tipton, Annette and husband Greg Wichmann of Fairhope, Alabama and Patricia Snyder and husband Ed of Tipton, 23 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, 24 great-great-grandchildren, and six step-children with their extended families.

      Elna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arthur; daughter, Annette Wichmann; granddaughter, Sherry Dick; grandson, Brady Wren; siblings, Layton Cherry, Lester Freed Chery, Mable Eads, Irene Maxey, Barbara Wood; and son-in-law, Ed Snyder.

      Funeral services for Elna will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 6 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Kim Drake officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will also be on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

      Memorial donations in honor of Elna may be made to the American Breast Cancer Foundation in remembrance of her daughter, Annette Wichmann, 10400 Little Patuxent Parkway, Suite 480, Columbia, MD, 21044.

      Elna's sister:
      Irene Maxey, 98 of Tipton died at 3:57 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2012 at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville. Irene was born on November 17, 1913 to Walter & Maudra Bliss (Kendall) Cherry in Gallatin, Tennessee. She had also lived in Moss Tennessee. On July 30, 1933 she married Tucker Butler Maxey and he preceded her in death on April 10, 1980.

      She was a housekeeper, retiring in 1994 at the age of 80. Irene was a member of the West Street Christian Church and Women's Democratic Club.

      Irene is survived by five children, Willie Nell Burk, Tipton, Charles E. Maxey, Tipton, Tony L. Maxey and wife Marlene, Carmel, Donna J. Austin, Tipton and Timothy W. Maxey and special friend Vicki, Elkhart; one daughter-in-law, Christine Maxey Holley, Goshen; 14 grandchildren, Nancy Hershberger and husband Ed, David Jordan and wife Angie, Lori Stewart and husband Tom, Tracy Mayger and husband Steve, Jim Maxey and wife Janice, Jeff Maxey and wife Debbie, Jenny Cavanaugh and husband Pat, Julie Calvin and husband Lyle, Christopher Maxey and wife Hannah, Melissa Slabaugh and husband Nick, Brett Anderson and wife Lynn, Chelsie Bolenbaugh and husband Adam, T.J. Maxey and wife Brittney and Tyler Maxey.

      She is also survived by 25 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, one sister Elna Dee Drullinger and a special friend, Romelle Jones. She was preceded in death by one son, James W. Maxey, daughter-in-law Rosie Maxey, son-in-law James Austin, two sisters Barbara Wood and Mable Eads, two brothers, Layton and Freed Cherry, and one granddaughter, Melody Lynn Jordan.

      Irene's funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 19 at the West Street Christian Church with Rev. Linda McKiernan-Allen presiding. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Tipton. Visitation will be from 2:00 ? 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and from 1:00 ? 2:00 p.m. Thursday, all at the church.

    • Sherry L. Dick, 57 of Tipton passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2022 at her home. She was born on February 6, 1965 in Kokomo to Kenneth ?Sonny? & Mary (Rood) Keifer.

      Sherry worked for CNO Insurance Company, formerly Conseco, for 30 years. She attended Tipton High School and loved her animals and plants. She would give you the shirt off her back. Sherry?s goal in life was to make everyone happy, and she succeeded beyond everyone?s expectations. Sherry enjoyed her oils to fix everyone. She was an amazing daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother. She was loved by many and a hippie at heart.

      She is survived by her grandmother, Elna Drullinger, Tipton; father and step-mother, Sonny and Patty Keifer of Tipton; herchildren, Kerastin Dick of Tipton, Trevor Dick and wife Athena of Windfall; siblings, Danny Keifer and wife Tammy of New Albany, Indiana, Shelly Kivett and husband Doug of Conway, Arkansas, Sheila Maddox and husband Shawn of Pine Island, Florida, Cassie King and husband Mike of Fishers, Cory Keifer and wife Jaclyn of Carmel.

      Sherry is also survived by her grandchildren, Sophie, Maria, Asia, Isaiah, Daeshawn, and Jaylen; that she loved all dearly. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Keifer and Gregory ?Bomar? Dick, the father of her children.

      Sherry?s funeral will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, April 8 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Tipton. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday.
