The Kalispell Journal (Montana) 24 June 1912
Laura Olivia Daugherty was born June 18, 1853, Ellenburo, Grant county, Wisconsin, and was married to Burl P. Drollinger in Keokuk, Iowa, March 15, 1876. Passed away Wednesday morning at 5:30 o'clock June 12. She leaves to mourn her loss a husband and 3 children, also two brothers and one sister. She had been confined to her home for some months with heart trouble. All was done by loving hands that could be but of no avail. She fell asleep peacefully without a struggle. During her sickness she had often spoken of the end and said it was all well with her, and asked that the loved one left behind would meet her in the Great Beyond.
Mrs. Drollinger was a good neighbor, true friend, a dear wife and a loving mother. She will be missed among her circle of friends. She is gone but not forgotten.
The funeral services were conducted at the Presbyterian church by Rev. T.A. Stacliffe after which the Rebeccas took charge of the body and she was laid to rest amidst a bed of flowers to await resurrection.
Sleep, mother, sleep; take thy rest,
God in His wisdom, knows it was best.

Notes - In spite of it being spelled "Laura" in her obituary, the true spelling of her first name is most likely 'Lura' because that is what is inscribed upon her large and no doubt expensive headstone as well as it also that way on her death certificate as provided by her husband, Burl. Additionally, the proper spelling of her middle is no doubt 'Oliva' (and not Olivia) because that is also the way it is inscribed upon her headstone. It would appear her parents named her that way in order to be deliberately different than the more standard spellings. In addition, she is listed as "Lura Oliva Daugherty" on her daughter, Jessie's marriage license with Claude Ross. (David H. Drollinger 12 Nov 2021)
Brothers married sisters. Burl married Lura and George married Clara.
