      -- 2002 June OBIT from the Examiner, Missouri: Thomas Timothy Titus, 73, Independence, died Monday, June 24, 2002, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City.
      Mr. Titus was born in Wabash, Ind. He worked for Tension Envelope as a printing press operator before he retired. He retired from the U.S. Navy in 1968 and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, Raytown Masonic Lodge and Ararat Shrine.
      He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Titus, a sister, Mary Ellen Kerr, brothers, Charles, William, Raymond, Robert and Jack Titus, and his parents, Ralph and Hazel Titus.
      His survivors include a son, Thomas Titus II, Raytown; two daughters, Merry Titus and Christine Titus, both of Kansas City; two brothers, Richard Titus, Pierceton, Ind., and Jerry Titus, West Melbourne, Fla.; one sister, Virginia Karnehm, Lafayette, Ind.; and one grandson.
      Services will be 9 a.m. Thursday at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Floral Hills Chapel, Kansas City. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Kansas City. Friends may call from 6 to 8 tonight at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Shriner's Wings of Mercy.
