- Milton Eddie Trullinger, a long-time resident of Willow Springs, went to his heavenly home Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008, while at Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains due to natural causes.
Born Dec. 9, 1925, to Milton Oliver and Dorthea (Smith) Trullinger in Farragut, Iowa, he was 82 years old. When Mr. Trullinger was young his family moved to Missouri, which he always considered his home.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army for 22 years in the signal corps' communications serving during World War II in the Asiatic-Pacific campaign; then in occupied Korea for two consecutive tours of duty; and Vietnam. His last tour of duty was in the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD).
Mr. Trullinger was a life member of the VFW post 1828, where he served as a prior post commander. He was also an accomplished HAM radio operator and a weather observer for the National Weather Service.
Mr. Trullinger was further described as a good Christian who regularly attended the Lighthouse Assembly of God with his wife, Lucille. However, he truly enjoyed the fellowship of all churches.
Ed had many enjoyments in his life and was described as an avid fisherman and outdoors man. He also liked to write poetry and had some of his poetry published. But, most importantly, he was loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Dorthea; his sister Violet; his brother Dean; his daughter Diana; and his granddaughter Bambi Moore.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille; his sons, Norman Wood and his wife, Shirley, and John Trullinger and his wife Karen all of Willow Springs; his daughter, Charla Wrenfrow and Ed Wrenfrow of West Plains; grandchildren Gary Barton and his wife Cindy of Thayer, Troy Barton and his wife Jennifer of Mountain Grove, Larry Barton and his wife Jana of West Plains, Norman Wood Jr. and his wife Wendy, Rhonda Grindstaff and her husband Donny, and Tabitha Wake all of Willow Springs, and Dustin and Dannielle Wrenfrow of West Plains.
