  	Walter Arthur Parkhurst died at age 85 on Saturday, April 27th 2013. A University of Washington graduate, he was a member of Alpha Delta Phi fraternity. He served in the Army and later as a Reserve Officer in the Air Force. Throughout his career as an insurance company executive, he was involved in numerous civic and business organizations. Surviving family includes Jackie, his wife of 60 years; daughters Susan Benyak and Mary K Parkhurst; son John (Kristina) Parkhurst; grandsons Neal (Jennifer) Benyak, Joseph Benyak, Jackson Parkhurst and granddaughter Abigail Parkhurst, all of the Seattle area. He was predeceased by their oldest son Drew Parkhurst. A memorial celebration is planned for Friday, May 3rd from 1-5 at Anthony's Homeport, Shilshole Bay.
