Fourteen Hurt When Truck Is Wrecked.
      (Salem Post.)
Gladene Turner, the 5-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Turnerof Bixby, was severly injured Tuesday evening about 5 o'clock, onHighway No. 32 about eight miles west of Salem, when the truck drivenby Corb Turner, her uncle, went into the ditch. The little girl'sscalp was torn from the left side of her head from about the center ofher forehead to her left ear. She was brought to Salem for first aidtreatment at the hands of Dr. Dillon, and was then sent to thehospital at Rolla.
There were thirteen people in the truck when the accident happened, and the family party was returning home from attending the funeral ofMrs, John Trollinger, near Licking, and all of them suffered injuriesof a minor character. The truck was traveling at a high rate ofspeed, and the driver lost control of the vehicle which went into theditch and a wire fence, but did not turn completely over. [end]
