May 22, 1911 - December 31, 2011
Obituary
Cora Pauline Manning was born May 22, 1911 to Albertus and Luenda Brannon near Chisholm, Oklahoma where she lived until she was two years old. She moved to Norman in 1913 where she resided (except for about two years in Webbers Fall, Oklahoma) until moving to the Moore Nursing Home in November, 2009. She made her final transition to her heavenly home on December 31, 2011, at the age of 100 years, 7 months and 9 days. Pauline married John Dudley Manning on July 30, 1928 in Norman. At the young age of 15, she felt a call to the ministry. When she was 59 years old, she founded the House of Prayer Church in Purcell, OK where she continued to pastor until October, 2008. She met the challenge of raising seven children alone by doing various jobs. The family will always remember the personal sacrifices she made for us when we were children, her example of hard work, honesty, love of music, daily Bible reading and prayer. She was predeceased by one son, Jack Manning on June, 12, 2009; her parents; four brothers and four sisters; and one granddaughter, Georgia Kay Trolinger. She is survived by six children and their spouses: Mary Katherine and Frank Trolinger of Oklahoma City, Bill and Sue Manning of Spencer, Jim and Geneva Manning of Norman, Edith and Bob Ely of Oklahoma City, Sue and Wayne Cargill of Goldsby, and Judy and Jim Spearman of Norman; 17 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends at Primrose Funeral Service in Norman, Tuesday, January 3, 2011 from 6:00-8:00PM. Her services will be 2:00PM Wednesday, January 4, 2011 at Primrose Chapel, with Rev. Bob Ely and Rev. Steve Ely officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park 2301 E. Indian Hills Road, Norman. Arrangements are trusted to the care of Primrose Funeral Service.
