  	Viola Marie (Tyler) Beck Johnston, of Grand Island, Nebraska formerly of Clarks, Nebraska, departed this life and entered The Eternal Home on, November 5, 2009, at Tiffany Square in Grand Island, Nebraska. Viola was 89 Years of age having been born on June 5, 1920, in Merrick County to Leslie Lloyd and Jessie May (Hanks) Tyler. Viola attended rural Merrick County, Nebraska schools and graduated from Hordville, Nebraska High School. After completing her schooling, Viola worked for the Merrick County AAA for several years. On May 1, 1942 Viola M. Tyler and Harold L. Beck were united in marriage in Inglewood, California. Harold and Viola made their home and farmed near Clarks. Harold died on March 23, 1980. Viola Beck and Walter Johnston were married on May 31, 1986. Viola lived on the home place until moving to Grand Island in December of 2006. Walter died on July 18, 2008. Viola was a member of the Clarks United Methodist Church of Clarks, Nebraska where she taught Sunday School. She later transferred her membership to Pierce Chapel United Methodist Church for many years she provided the church with flowers from her garden. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, baking, gardening, flowers, dancing and traveling and had been a 4-H leader for many years. Harold and Viola enjoyed spending their winters in Texas; and she continued spending winters there with Walter. Those left to cherish her memory are her children ? Leslie Beck of Clarks, Nebraska; Lynn Beck of Godfrey, Illinois; Shannon Zegar of Grand Island, Nebraska; Shelli and Bob Voichoskie of Silver Creek, Nebraska; and Sheri Topinka of Grand Island, Nebraska; brothers ? Paul Tyler of Archer, Nebraska and Joe and Donna Tyler of Lincoln, Nebraska and a host of friends and relatives. Viola was welcomed into The Heavenly Home by her parents, Lloyd and Jessie Tyler; by her husbands, Harold Beck and Walt Johnston and brother and sister-in-law Wayne and Lucile Tyler.
