  Burial	CIVIL WAR VETERAN ANSWERS THE CALL William E. Crane Succumbed at Noon Friday. Was Honest and Honorable. Leaves Several Children William E. Crane, age 88 years, a civil war veteran, died at noon Friday at his home in East Greenfield, of hardening of the arteries and old age. Mr. Crane had been feeble for some time. A year ago his wife died and his son, John came from Colorado to live with him. A few weeks ago his grandson-in-law, Jack Chapman, and wife came and have been keeping house for him. His son was in the country working at the time of his father's death. Mr. Crane has been married 8 times and has several children, all living in the West but one son, John. He was an honest and honorable man and was methodical in all his business affairs. For years he has carried a receipt book and taken a receipt for everything he purchased and for all money he paid out. He drew a pension and owned his property.
