Ernie was born on May 9, 1933 to Clyde and Cora (Humphrey) Swaim in Hale, MO, where he grew up and graduated from high school in 1951.
In 1953, Ernie enlisted in the U.S. Army and proudly served his country for 2 years.
On July 27, 1957 Ernie married Quintana Moore in Kansas City, MO. The couple made their home in Bartlesville where he worked as a computer operator for Phillips Petroleum until retiring in 1977. They moved to Grove in 1996.
Ernie is preceded in death by his parents, wife, 2 brothers and one granddaughter.
Left to cherish his memory: son, John Swaim and wife, Debra of Grove, brother Glen Swaim of Blue Springs, MO, 1 grand child and 4 great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 10am Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Olympus Cemetery South.
