She was born July 12, 1929 in East Gary, IN to Carl and Mary Ellen (Cooper) DeHaven. Corky graduated from Jackson Township High School and worked at JCPenney and TJ Middle School in Valparaiso. She enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, but her true passion was feeding and taking care of her family. Corky will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was the last family member of her generation and will be dearly missed. On June 20, 1948 in Valparaiso, Corky married Harold L. Johnson, who preceded her in death. She is survived by their children: Sharon (Bob) McCasland of Valparaiso, Sue (Bill) Andrews of Swainsboro, GA, and Michael Dowd of Indianapolis; grandchildren: Melissa (Jeff) Ofman, Rebecca (Doug) Barach, and Jessica Andrews; great grandchildren: Cadence and Cole Ofman; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 11 siblings: Lola (Harvey) Kremke, Rudolph DeHaven, Don (Iva) DeHaven, Elizabeth (Alvin) Thorne, Francis (Charles) Dowd, Jack (Annagrace) DeHaven, Howard (Audrey) DeHaven, Carl (Jean) DeHaven, Jim (Viola) DeHaven, Laura (Henry) Moser, and Marian (Clarence) Lambert.
