Friday May 4, 2007 at Selby-Kirsch Funeral Chapel in Shenandoah. Inurnment with full military honors will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. A reception will follow at his residence, 404 South Center, Shenandoah, Iowa. Survivors include his wife, Maribelle (Redfield) Read of Shenandoah; daughter, Robin Read Brunelli and husband Sam of Washington, DC; grandchildren, Dara O'Hara and husband, Tim, of New York City, New York and Tia Mahaffy and husband, Michael, of Greenwich, Connecticut, Courtney Briggs of Houston, Texas, Dr. Ashley Briggs and husband Jude Goetzinger of Brandon, South Dakota; nephew, Duane Sullivan and wife, Marlene, of Omaha, Nebraska and son, Chad Parkhurst; niece, Juli Briggs and husband, Jack, of Brandon, South Dakota; niece, Kathryn Gaver and husband, John, of Tampa, Florida; nephews, Lance Rydberg and wife, Kaye, of New Orleans, Louisiana, and Tom Rydberg and wife, Marsha, of Tampa, Florida, other close relatives and many friends.
