    • Pauline Frances Brader, the daughter of Roy and Rebecca (Wilkie) Madden, was born July 17, 1919, at her parents? home near Lake City, Iowa and died August 15, 2015, at the Friendship Home in Audubon, Iowa at the age of 96 years and 28 days.

      Pauline was baptized and confirmed at the Presbyterian Church in Lake City. She attended rural school and graduated from the Lake City High School with the Class of 1937. She studied at Buena Vista College where she received her teaching certificate and then taught rural schools near Lake City.

      On April 2, 1942, she was united in marriage to Corporal Richard E. Brader of Camp Crowder, Missouri at Lake City, Iowa. Four children David, Donald, Carol and Thomas were born to this union. After Richard as honorably discharged they established a home in Storm Lake, Iowa where Richard was employed as an electrician for C.F. Inman Company and Pauline was a homemaker caring for the children. In 1950, they moved to Audubon, Iowa.

      Pauline did substitute teaching in the Audubon Schools, then later became a clerk at the ASCS Office in Audubon until she retired.
      Pauline was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Audubon. She served as a Church School teacher, a vacation Bible School teacher, and Superintendent of the Intermediate Department of the Church School. She was an active member of the Presbyterian Women serving as President, Secretary, Treasurer, and was a Circle leader. She served on the Des Moines Presbyterian Board for three terms. Pauline was also a Trustee, an Elder, and a Deacon of the local Church Board. She enjoyed working with youth groups and served as a Camp Fire leader and a Cub Scout Den Mother. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and had served as President and Treasurer. Pauline and Dick enjoyed camping and were members of the Audubon County Travelers.

      Pauline was preceded in death by her husband Richard E. Brader; her daughters-in-law Diane (Weihs) Brader and Jana (Bramer) Brader; her parents; and her brothers-in-law and sisters-in law Marguarite and husband Marvin Mullins, Jessie and husband William Tuttle, and Dorothy and husband Elwood Rix.

      Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Roger Claxton on Thursday, August 20, 2015, at 2:00 P.M. at the First Presbyterian Church in Audubon, Iowa. Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Audubon, Iowa.
      The casket bearers will be: David Brader, Donald Brader, Stephen Batten, Creighton Nelson, Dick Watts, and Tom Rasmussen. The family will meet with friends Thursday afternoon from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the funeral service at the First Presbyterian Church in Audubon.
