- Madge L. Drollinger, 84, Kingman, died at 10:15 a.m. March 12, 1997 in Culver Union Hospital, Crawfordsville. She had suffered a stroke several days ago. She was born June 12, 1912 near Powersburg, Ky., the daughter of Jerome and Rosene Daniels Littrell. She married Robert F. Gooding Oct. 3, 1936. He preceded her in death Nov. 28, 1970. She then married Hershel R. Drollinger June 3, 1973. He preceded her in death July 9, 1993.
She had been a teacher for 32 years, having retired from the Southeast Fountain School Corp. She was a member of the Kingman Christian Church, an associate member of the Kingman Women's Club, Never Grow Old Birthday Club, Millcreek Home Extension Club, the Kingman Hilltoppers Senior Citizens Group, Indiana Senior Citizens Group, Indiana Retired Teachers Association, National Retired Teacher Association, and the American Association of Retired Persons.
Surviving are: two sons, Robert F., Crawfordsville; and George Allen, New Ross; a stepson Norman Drollinger, rural Veedersburg; two stepdaughters, Esther Downing, Oakwood, Ill.; Helen Rahn, rural Kingman; a sister, Inez Wiggers, Lincoln, Ill.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; 15 step grandchildren; and 18 step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Gordon, three brothers, a sister and a stepgrandson.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Woodrow Funeral Home, Kingman, with the Rev. Steve Hayes officiating. Burial will be in Phanuel Lutheran Cemetery, east of Wallace. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. tonight (Friday) at the funeral home. ? Fountain County Neighbor, March 14, 1997
