- Waitstill "Wadie" May Webb passed away on January 21, 2025 at the age of 93. Wadie was born and raised in Wentzville. She graduated from Wentzville High School in 1949 and moved to St. Charles for a short time before moving back to the homestead on May Road in Wentzville where she lived for the rest of her life. She worked at "Cuzzin Charlies" in the late 1960's where she made lots of friends before she went on to work at the post office in Wentzville where she worked until her retirement in 1991. She had many duties while working at the post office, but her favorite was walking her city route (even in the rain, snow, and heat). Along her route she was able to check in on the elderly including the Elder Court Apartments. After she retired from carrying a bag of letters she continued to "walk the streets" as she was a member of TOPS/KOPS for over 30 years where she won many awards and traveled to many places in and out of the state. While "snowbirding" in Florida she joined the local chapter to continue her walking making many new friends along the way in TOPS/KOPS. She continued to walk on the treadmill every day doing 5 miles each morning until her early 80's. When she wasn't walking she was volunteering at the Mary Martha Thrift Store in Wentzville, the Green Lantern Senior Center making crafts with seniors, along with many years volunteering with the City of Wentzville for the Downhill Derby, Turkey Trot, and the Christmas Lights at the park. In 2009 she won Volunteer of the Year from the City of Wentzville for putting many hours in helping others do things for the city events.
Making friends and helping others was a big part of her life, but her biggest joy and love was her family. Family gatherings at the homestead was something she truly loved to do. Fixing big meals and watching the grandchildren play were specials days to her. Now her family says Thank You, Mom/Nanny for having us be part of your wonderful life. We love and miss you.
Wadie is survived by her son, Daniel (Sue) Drullinger of Wentzville; daughter, Linda Drullinger of Wentzville; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren; She is preceded in death by her father, Robert May, mother, Lily McCloud, husband, Charles Webb, sons, Randall and Wade Drullinger, brothers, Robert May Kelley and Jay Lee Kelley, sister, Mildred Marie Cummings.
