    • Hettinger, Robert A. "Bob" Age 84 of Montgomery and Oswego, IL. went home to the Lord on June 20, 2023, after a long, courageous battle with Inclusion Body Myositis. He was born on April 16, 1939, in Aurora, IL, the son of Francis J. and Christine A. (nee Hankes) Hettinger. Robert married Martha (nee Diehl) on September 16, 1961, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Naperville.

He graduated from Marmion Military Academy in 1957. He was employed by Lyon Metal Products for forty years. Bob was an avid sports fan and faithfully supported his Cubs! He was able to visit all fifty states, mostly by car, so his whole family could watch the corn grow. Bob enjoyed many good times around the kitchen table, playing any card game. He was an usher at St. Anne Catholic Church, an active member of the Knights of Columbus, and sang in the Resurrection Choir. Bob loved to watch his children and grandchildren in sports, music, and other activities they were involved in. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Martha, children, Rhonda (Gary) Wooley, Steve (Sabrina) Hettinger, Diane (Mark) Bybee. Also survived by grandchildren Brittany (Kevin) Drollinger, Gregory (Ashley) Wooley, Benjamin (Andrea) Wooley, Joseph Bybee and Connor Bybee, and great-grandchildren Ethan, Evie, and Owen; Sisters Carole (the late Byron) Elsner, Dolores (the late Richard) Kellen, Lois (Don) Haag, Rita (James) Crimmins, brothers Francis "Frank" (Betty), Thomas (Marion), and Peter (the late Ruthanne) Hettinger, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three infant children, Mary, Joseph and Ann Hettinger.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 25, 2023, from 2:00 to 6:00 P.M. at the Dunn Family Funeral Home with Crematory 1801 S. Douglas Road Oswego, IL 60543. Family and friends can meet directly at St. Anne Catholic Church 551 Boulder Hill Pass Oswego, IL. 60543 on Monday, June 26, 2023, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Risen Lord Cemetery, Oswego, IL. 60543

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bob's name can be made to Angels Grace Hospice, The Myositis Association or St. Anne Catholic Church.
