Mother:
Hope G. Hibdon, 91, of Carthage, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2007, at McCune-Brooks Hospital. She was born Feb. 1, 1916, in Alba. Hope was one of 11 children born to the late James J. and Sylvia T. "Swoveland" Lamb. She attended the Alba schools and was later employed at Con-Agra for several years, retiring in 1981. Hope was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Carthage.
She is survived by seven sons; Robert E. Hibdon of Knoxville, Ark., Ronald L. Hibdon of Las Vegas, Nev., James E. Hibdon of Eugene, Ore., Olen O. Hibdon Jr. of Rogers Ark., Larry D. Hibdon of Wheatland, Reggie G. Hibdon of Carthage, and Russell L. Hibdon of Yakima, Wash., one daughter; Rita A. Boyd of Neosho, 27 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren, one brother James Lamb of Crystal Rock, Wash., three sisters; Doris McConnell of Carthage, Treva Lee Hoag of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Glendora Maples of Carterville, and one sister-in-law; Betty Lamb of Webb City.
She was preceded in death by three brothers; Oral, Don and Troy Lamb and three sisters; Mayme and Bonnie Lamb and Melda Brassfield.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007, at the First Assembly of God Church in Carthage. Visitation will be held at Ulmer Funeral Home, Carthage, from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3, 2007. Burial will be at the Friends Cemetery, Purcell.
Contributions may be given to the Gideon's International or to the Assembly of God Women's Ministry.
Arrangements are directed by Ulmer Funeral Home.
