George Marsden, 72, of Dallas City, IL lost his battle with cancer at 6:30a.m. Monday, July 14, 2014 at his home.
George was born on May 16, 1942 in Dallas City the son of Paul and Thelma Burrell Marsden. He married Karen Mosley in Dallas City on Novemebr 15, 1963.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He later ran the Dental Lab for the University of Iowa. He then moved back to Dallas City to raise his children and ran his dental lab business for many years. George enjoyed many things in life, including, being a father, being on the river, motorcross racing, flying, playing pool and partying with friends. George spent countless hours in his garage working on and inventing things. He enjoyed learning new things. He was always supportive of his sons' interest.
He is survived by his wife, Karen, two sons, Mark (Brenda Menke) Marsden of Dallas City and Steve ( Laura Osbourne) Marsden of Nacogdoches, TX, brother, Mike (Judy) Marsden of Dallas City, sister, Mary Alice (Sid) Kranenberg of California, four other siblings and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Marsden was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Marilyn McDermott and Nedra McKasson.
A visitation will be held at a later date at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for the Disabled American Veterans. Condolences may be left at banksandbeals.com.
